Indications:
Wind heat or Lung heat that obstructs the dispersal and descent of Lung Qi. Presenting with cough, with or without phlegm, wheezing, labored breathing, chest constriction. May be accompanied by fever with or without sweating, thirst, nasal flaring, nasal pain. Tongue: red with a yellow coat. Pulse: slippery, rapid

Description:
Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula
 
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In severe cases or in the initial phases of treatment, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used short-term for few days to a few weeks. This is a cold formula, and can easily damage the Spleen and Stomach Qi. Once acute signs of Lung heat are resolved, this formula should be discontinued and replaced with a milder formula.

Ingredients:
Gypsum fibrosum mineral, Prunus armeniaca seed, Cynanchum stauntoni rhizome, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root. - Shi gao, Xing ren, Bai qian, Gan cao.
 
Contraindications:
Shi gao/gypsum is a very cold medicinal and can injure the Spleen and Stomach when taken for too long or in excessive amounts. Contraindicated for conditions due to excess cold or Qi deficiency. Contains tree nuts.
