Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used short-term for few days to a few weeks. Once acute heat signs are resolved, this formula should be discontinued, and replaced with a milder formula. This is a cold formula, and can easily damage the Spleen and Stomach Qi.

Zingiber officinale rhizome-fresh, Bupleurum chinense root, Pinellia ternata rhizome, Scutellaria baicalensis root, Citrus aurantium fruit-immature, Paeonia lactiflora root, Ziziphus jujuba fruit, Rheum palmatum root. - Sheng jiang, Chai hu, Ban xia, Huang qin, Zhi shi, Bai shao, Da zao, Da huang.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated for very weak or deficient patients. Contraindicated during pregnancy and menstruation. Use with caution in breast-feeding women as Da huang/rhubarb can pass through the breast milk causing colic and diarrhea in infants. May cause mild abdominal cramping in sensitive patients. Not recommended for long term use.
