Indications:
Wind Cold invasion with concurrent stagnation of phlegm fluids presenting with wheezing, productive cough, copious clear or white stringy sputum that is difficult to expel, chest constriction, labored breathing, nasal congestion, copious clear watery nasal discharge, chills and fever with chills predominating, absence of sweating, aversion to cold, generalized sensation of heaviness, body aches, occipital headache and absence of thirst. Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills 3 times per day, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used short-term for few days to a few weeks. Once the acute symptoms of wind cold are resolved, this formula should be discontinued and long-term treatment be continued with an appropriate constitutional formula.

Ingredients:
Paeonia lactiflora root, Pinellia ternata rhizome, Cinnamomum cassia twig, Schisandra chinensis fruit, Ephedra sinica herb, Zingiber officinale rhizome-dried, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root. - Bai shao, Ban xia, Gui zhi, Wu wei zi, Ma huang, Gan jiang, Gan cao.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated during pregnancy. Contraindicated for conditions due to heat. Contraindicated for cough with blood. Contraindicated for Qi or Yin deficiency with spontaneous sweating or night sweats. Use with caution in hypertension or insomnia, as Ma huang/ephedra may raise blood pressure or aggravate insomnia in some cases.
