Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula

Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In the initial phases of treatment a small dose of 4 pills 2-3 times daily is usually used. Dose may be increased until a smooth bowel movement is achieved, then reduced to the minimum required to give a result. May be used medium-term for a few weeks to a few months. It is often administered along with a constitutional formula as a long-term treatment for chronic constipation, and the dosage of this formula is gradually reduced as the condition improves. Once constipation has been relieved, this formula should be discontinued and replaced with an appropriate constitutional formula, as patients can habituate to rhubarb's laxative effect.
