Indications:
Stomach heat and fire uprising presenting with toothache, swollen and painful mouth sores especially concentrated on the gums and buccal cavity, but may also include sores on the tongue, lips or jaw, frontal headache, bleeding and sore gums, bad breath, dry mouth and lips, or nose bleeds. Symptoms may be initiated or exacerbated by spicy, greasy, hot-natured foods and relieved with application of cold. May be accompanied by fever or sensation of heat, red complexion, indeterminate gnawing hunger, thirst for cold drinks, burning epigastric pain, belching, heartburn, acid regurgitation, tendency towards constipation or dry stools. Tongue: red, redder in the center, coat: dry, yellow or scanty. Pulse: slippery, rapid, large in middle positions

Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills 3 times per day, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used short to medium-term for a few weeks to a month. Once the acute symptoms of this condition are resolved, this formula should be discontinued, or combined with an appropriate constitutional formula.

Cimicifuga heracleifolia rhizome, Coptis chinensis rhizome, Paeonia suffruticosa root-bark, Rehmannia glutinosa root-raw, Angelica sinensis root. - Sheng ma, Huang lian, Mu dan pi, Sheng di huang, Dang gui.
Contraindications:
Use with caution during pregnancy. Contraindicated for conditions without heat, or due to deficient heat. Not for toothaches due to Kidney deficiency or attack of pathogenic cold.
