Indications:
External wind cold dampness invasion presenting with acute simultaneous fever and chills without sweating, chills more than fever, shivering, aversion to wind, pain and stiffness of head and neck, occipital headache, generalized body aches, nasal congestion or runny nose with clear mucus. Description:
Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula
 
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. Pills may be taken with hot ginger tea or rice and ginger porridge to encourage sweating. May be followed by a hot bath and bed rest with warm blankets. May be used short-term for few days to a few weeks. Once acute exterior signs are resolved, this formula should be discontinued.

Schizonepeta tenuifolia herb, Ledebouriella divaricata root, Bupleurum chinense root, Peucedanum praeruptorum root, Ligusticum wallichii rhizome, Notopterygium incisium root, Angelica pubescens root, Poria cocos fungus, Platycodon grandiflorum root, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root, Zingiber officinale rhizome-fresh. - Jing jie, Fang feng, Chai hu, Qian hu, Chuan xiong, Qiang huo, Du huo, Fu ling, Jie geng, Gan cao, Sheng jiang.
 
Contraindications:
Contraindicated for conditions due to wind-heat, but suitable for conditions of wind-cold transforming into heat. Use with caution during pregnancy.
