Description:
Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula

Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In severe cases or in the initial phases of treatment, dose may be slowly increased until a smooth bowel movement is achieved, then reduced to the minimum required to give a result. May be used short-term for few days to a couple weeks. If administered alone for acute symptoms, it is usually taken up to a week. This formula is often administered along with a constitutional formula to treat constipation due to internal heat accompanying other syndrome patterns. Once constipation has been relieved, this formula should be discontinued and replaced with an appropriate constitutional formula, as patients can habituate to rhubarb's laxative effect. This is a cold formula, and can easily damage the Spleen and Stomach Qi.
