Indications:
Wind edema from wind-damp invasion of the superficial tissues in patients with Wei Qi deficiency. Presenting with superficial edema anywhere in the body, edema that may come and go, difficult or scanty urination, sweating, aversion to wind, chills, frequent colds and flu, heavy sensation in the body, fatigue. May be accompanied by pale complexion, shortness of breath, palpitations, poor appetite, loose stools. Also indicated for wind damp Bi-pain presenting with joint pain and numbness in the lower body, especially the knees, with heaviness, stiffness and swelling of the limbs. Description:
Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used short-term for few days to a few weeks. Once the acute symptoms are resolved, this formula should be discontinued, or combined with an appropriate constitutional formula.

Ingredients:
Astragalus membranaceus root, Stephania tetrandra root, Atractylodes macrocephala rhizome, Ziziphus jujuba fruit, Zingiber officinale rhizome-fresh, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root. - Huang qi, Fang ji, Bai zhu, Da zao, Sheng jiang, Gan cao.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated for edema due to excess without Qi deficiency. Use with caution in hypertension as Huang qi/astragalus may raise blood pressure in some cases.
