Indications:
Yang Ming channel stage or Qi level heat presenting with high fever, profuse sweating, extreme thirst, dry mouth and throat, red complexion, irritability, aversion to heat, scanty urine. Symptoms may be accompanied by labored breathing, and in severe cases, delirious speech. Also useful for Stomach fire producing frontal headache, toothache, nosebleed, bleeding gums, bad breath, mouth sores, tooth infection, red eyes. Tongue: red with a dry yellow coat Pulse: flooding, rapid, slippery, forceful

Description:
Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula
 
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used short-term for a few days to a week. Once the acute symptoms of this condition are resolved, this formula should be discontinued. This is a cold and bitter formula, and can easily damage the Spleen and Stomach Qi.

Ingredients:
Gypsum fibrosum mineral, Dioscorea opposita rhizome, Anemarrhena asphodeloides rhizome, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root-prep. - Shi gao, Shan yao, Zhi mu, Zhi gan cao.
 
Contraindications:
Shi gao/gypsum is a very cold medicinal and can injure the Spleen and Stomach when taken for too long or in excessive amounts. Watch for signs of cold, such as cold extremities or subjective feelings of cold. Contraindicated for fevers due to deficiency or for cases of false heat and true cold.
