Indications:
Lung heat or fire presenting with hacking, barking, painful cough with little or no phlegm, if present the phlegm is thick, yellow, sticky and hard to expectorate. Description:
Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 4 tablets, 2 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In severe cases or in the initial phases of treatment, dosage may be increased to 4 tablets every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used short-term for up to 7 consecutive days. Once the acute symptoms are resolved, this formula should be discontinued and replaced with a milder formula. Monitor for signs of cold, such as loose stools or diarrhea.

Ingredients:
Scutellaria baicalensis root, Gardenia jasminoides fruit, Rheum palmatum root, Peucedanum praeruptorum root, Sophora flavescens root, Trichosanthes kirilowii root, Platycodon grandiflorum root, Anemarrhena asphodeloides rhizome. - Huang qin, Zhi zi, Da huang, Qian hu, Ku shen, Tian hua fen, Jie geng, Zhi mu.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated during pregnancy and menstruation. Contraindicated for very weak or deficient patients. Use with caution in breast-feeding women as Da huang/rhubarb can pass through the breast milk causing colic and diarrhea in infants. Use with caution in Spleen deficient patients with a tendency to loose stools, diarrhea, poor appetite or chronic digestive weakness.
