Plum Flower Chinese Herbal Formula

Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 12 pills, 2 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. The dosage should be very slowly increased from 4 to 12 pills two times daily to monitor the patient's response. May be used short-term for few days to a few weeks. This formula is similar to Xiao Huo Luo Dan in function, with the addition of many other strong wind cold damp clearing herbs. It is an extremely hot, pungent and dispersing formula that alleviates pain strongly, but may easily damage Yin. Watch for heat signs such as insomnia, restlessness, facial flushing, sweating and thirst. Is often administered in a rotation with a few days break after every week of treatment. Once the acute symptoms are resolved, this formula should be discontinued and replaced with a milder formula, such as Du Huo Ji Sheng Wan.
