Indications:
Qi, damp and phlegm-damp stagnation in the middle jiao with underlying Spleen Qi deficiency. Presenting with pronounced abdominal and epigastric pain, fullness, and distention, even after eating very little, fatigue after meals, poor appetite or complete lack of appetite, loss of taste, bland or slimy taste in the mouth, nausea, vomiting, headache, heartburn, acid reflux, belching, hiccups, borborygmus, malodorous gas and stool, loose, pasty or poorly formed stools, undigested food in the stool, tendency towards diarrhea. Symptoms may be accompanied by poor muscle tone, pronounced weakness and heaviness of the limbs, mental cloudiness, poor concentration, forgetfulness, depression, frequent sighing. Min Shan Chinese Herbal Formula
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating, or with food to facilitate digestion of meals. In severe cases or in the initial phases of treatment, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills 3 times per day, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used medium-term for a few weeks to a few months. Once the acute symptoms of this condition are resolved, this formula should be discontinued, or replaced with an appropriate constitutional formula. Monitor for signs of Yin deficiency.

Atractylodes macrocephala rhizome, Poria cocos fungus, Citrus reticulata peel, Pinellia ternata rhizome, Aucklandia lappa root, Agastache rugosa herb, Cyperus rotundus rhizome, Amomum kravanh fruit, Magnolia officinalis bark, Amomum villosum fruit, Citrus aurantium fruit-immature, Ziziphus jujuba fruit, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root, Zingiber officinale rhizome-fresh. - Bai zhu, Fu ling, Chen pi, Ban xia, Mu xiang, Huo xiang, Xiang fu, Bai dou kou, Hou po, Sha ren, Zhi shi, Da zao, Gan cao, Sheng jiang.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated during the early stages of acute illness such as cold and flu, or during an acute infection. Contraindicated for conditions due to Yin deficiency or excess heat. Because of the Qi dispersing and draining aspects of this formula caution is advised during the late stages of pregnancy and in cases of threatened miscarriage. However, this formula may be used in the earlier stages of pregnancy for morning sickness with the appropriate TCM pattern identification.
