Indications:
Damp-heat in the lower jiao presenting with vaginal discharge that may be thick, sticky, yellow, green, or white and streaked with blood ("red and white vaginal discharge"). May be accompanied by malodorous or a fishy smell, vaginal itching, irritation and pain, pain during intercourse. May also be accompanied by other damp-heat signs such as dry mouth, bitter taste in the mouth, lower abdominal distension and pain that is worse with pressure, lower back pain, fatigue, burning urination, possibly blood in the urine, or chronic diarrhea with mucus and/or blood. Description:
Min Shan Chinese Herbal Formula
Dosage:
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x day.
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute or severe disorders, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the treatment takes effect. May be used short-term for a few days to a few weeks. Once acute symptoms of this condition are resolved, this formula should be discontinued. For weakened digestion with a tendency to dampness or phlegm, it may be administered with Bao He San/Wan or Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi San/Wan. Monitor for signs of Yin or Spleen Qi deficiency.

Ailanthis altissima bark, Paeonia lactiflora root, Rehmannia glutinosa root-prep, Angelica sinensis root, Phellodendron amurense bark, Alpinia officinarum rhizome, Ligusticum wallichii rhizome. - Chun gen pi, Bai shao, Shu di huang, Dang gui, Huang bai, Gao liang jiang, Chuan xiong.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated during the early stages of acute illness such as cold and flu, or during an acute infection. Contraindicated for conditions due to damp-cold. Use with caution in Spleen deficient patients with a tendency to loose stools, diarrhea, poor appetite or chronic digestive weakness.
